Gary Vaynerchuk’s Weekly Wrap-Up (6/9/15)

To kick off this week’s best of GaryVee’s content, we’re going to begin with the article “This Is the Straightest Road to Success”. Gary starts out by saying we have all been to a keynote or watched one online where a guru goes on and on about their “secrets”. Gary says all that advice means nothing at all as the secret to success is much more simple. And in fact, we all have it already. He continues to say that his success and anyone’s success is a product of many things. It has to do with skill, resources, time and most importantly hard work.

Gary says that he grew up poor and sucked at school so working hard was the only gear he had. He was hungry for success and knew that in order to get there he’d have to give it his all. The secret to success according to Gary is to work harder even when you think you’ve worked your hardest.

In the video “The Secret to Setting Smart Priorities” Gary was asked how he prioritizes which project to execute first. Gary says he prioritizes by equally taking care of the most important things while balancing going on the offense on the biggest things he has to do like dealing with the culture or deciding what to do with a particular department. He says when he does this, he doesn’t prioritize anything that falls between the two. Next Gary was asked how he structured his day before he had an assistant. Gary said that before he had an assistant, his working life was very disorganized, complete chaos and piss-poor.
