For our second installment of GaryVee’s weekly wrap-up , we’re going to begin with the video “How Does Humor Play a Role in Business?”. Gary says that he believes humor plays a role in business just as it does in other aspects of life. He says that humor is one of the most attractive personality traits a person can have. As a person who uses humor regularly when speaking to groups, Gary believes that humor can play an important role in business. However, Gary says that humor is no more important than other things people can be very attracted to such as caring, empathy, self-awareness, gratitude and kindness as humor is just another core tenet. He finishes by saying – if you “have it” – use it.

In the article “OK, You Decided to Take the Leap. Now What?” Gary starts off by saying that once you’ve decided to move ahead with your business idea, you’ve already completed one of the hardest parts. But knowing what to do next is more difficult. Do you sit on your idea for while or run with it? Should you come up with a strategy or consult with business associates? Gary advices that if you are working with a partner, it’s a good idea to take the time to talk things over so you can see where your idea goes. He goes on to say that the most important aspect of turning a new idea into reality may be timing. Not how fast you move but when you move. Before you take the next step, you should as yourself a few questions like ‘Am I ready?’, ‘Do I have the time?’.

Gary says the biggest failures he’s made in his business career have happened when he bit off more than he could chew. This is why he advices that before moving on, you should figure out your timing by doing things like mapping out your life and making sure your idea is going to get you where you want to be.
